Things I don't want to forget about Owen this week:
I am trying to make sure I write down the funny (and not so funny) things that Owen does. He changes so much from week to week that by the time I write some of it down he is doing something completely different and fun....so here is my best effort to start writing it on here.
-Owen started laughing, and when I say laughing I mean fake laughing. It is so funny! He also wants you to laugh back at him and he will laugh even harder. His real laughing is GREAT. He mostly laughs when being tickled, surprised, and when Lucy and Nellie are acting goofy.
-He is a terrible teether. I think most kids are a little fussy when they are teething. I think Owen is completely dramatic. It must be terrible to have teeth come in, but geez. As soon as those teeth pop through he turns into a different kid. A very happy and fun toddler. So far we are at 6 teeth....I really don't even want to know how many are left.
-Owen wants to be held all the time. When I say held, I mean picked up and walked around so he can look at things. For the longest time Ethan and I would try and distract Owen by saying "What's This" and point to something new.....now Owen points at things and says"Dis" and we'll tell him what he is pointing at. For awhile I didn't know if he knew what we were talking about, but last week while eating lunch I asked him where the fan was, and he pointed. He is really listening to us.
-He still only says 3 things. He really loves the balloon his old daycare lady, Linda gave him on his last day. He will point to it and I'll say balloon and he'll say "bah-oooh" So he is getting there with his communication. I look forward to the day when he can tell me what he wants instead of screaming till I figure it out.
-My dad plays paddy-cake with Owen all the time. One day he was sitting on the floor and was trying so hard to do the "rolling" part with his arms. He finally figured it out and I said "roll it" and he smiled and kept doing it. Now, as soon as he sees my dad he will start rolling his arms. So cute ;-)
-Owen's new favorite things to get into: my mini pantry, pushing the buttons on the DVD player and cable box which causes a bunch of strange shows to be recorded.
-Owen really loves Nellie and Lucy. They can turn his mood from bad to good too! We have been working on being gentle with them and he is doing much better.
-Owen likes to read, but right now he doesn't want you to read the book. He wants you to open it and give it to him and he will walk around with it and turn the pages himself.
-Owen has to be in the middle of the action. He likes to "help" cook. He likes to talk to people when they call. He wants to press the buttons on our laptops.
Mmmmm, these look yummy (I should have taken an after picture. I turned my back for a little bit and the crackers ended up all smashed on the floor. It turned into another little treat for the doggies)
