Easter

Holidays just keep getting more and more fun for our family ;-)  All of Easter weekend was a really good time.

Starting on Friday morning after I headed to work Owen and Daddy went out to breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa Webinger....Owen loves pancakes!  Later they met me at work for lunch.  Owen was really shy when he first entered the exercise center I work in, but soon caught on how many door ways and hallways he could run into.  By the time he left he was being his usual "cheese ball" self.  Lately Owen has been so smiley.....of course rarely when I get my camera out, but really smiley!  Friday night Ethan and I had a much needed planned at the last minute date night.....so nice!

Saturday the ladies celebrated my cousin Sarah's bridal shower (my camera battery was dead.....shoot!).  It was a wonderful time with great games (My aunt Ann planned the games and I have been to ALOT of showers and suprisingly the games she had I had never played before, they were super fun....if you are reading this GREAT job Annie!), wonderful food and lots of chatting.  We are looking forward to their wedding weekend in about a month.  I have been teaching Owen a few dance moves!
We finished Saturday night at my grandma and grandpa's house, so everyone could see Owen.  He played with a cute duck that was dressed as a bunny and when you picked him up by his ears the duck would say "put me down," pretty cute!  Owen entertained everyone and we can't wait to see everyone again in a month.

Easter Sunday was wonderful!  The easter bunny brought Owen a sand and water table, we set it up in the living room which Owen thought was GREAT (he played in it for a long time.....with no sand or water in it!)  After that we went on a hike with the girls and met at my parent's house for a wonderful brunch.  Grandma and Grandpa Smith had hid some easter eggs outside their house and as we drove up their driveway Owen noticed them right away.  It took him awhile but after he caught on to what was going on he was a man on a mission!  It was so funny, he was so serious!

We left my parent's house just plain stuffed while Ethan and I wanted to go home and nap, Owen had other plans for us!  He was a bit fussy, so we decided to take him to the park where we met up with Grandma and Grandpa Webinger as they headed back into town from seeing Leah and Dan.  It was a really wonderful weekend.....and really hard to go back to work Monday.

Here are the pics!

Easter Eggs and more

It has been awhile since I have posted or even transfered pictures from my camera to my computer.  We have had some really nice weather and we have all been taking advantage of it.   This might be a little long, but oh well!  Kids change so much ;-)

Owen has been doing much better in trying new foods, he has had sandwhiches, bagels with cream cheese, pickles, blueberries, mangos, donut holes, pizza, rice and broccoli.  It sure has made going places with Owen much easier when he will eat a few more items.

He has also started to talk a little more, he LOVES cheese and "cheese" is one of the words that he will consistenly say along with "mommy" "daddy" "yes" "this"  He also recently added "jerry" which is his Grandma and Grandpa Webinger's yellow lab and "kiki" which is kitty and Owen really likes playing with my paren't cat Marley, although he doesn't care too much for Owen.  He has been working really hard at saying "fan" which have been his favorite item for a long time.  Wherever we go he looks to the ceiling to see if there are any fans.

Injury prone.  With all this new sense of freedom Owen sure has been on the go the last month.  This has made for some nice injuries both inside and outside including 2 black eyes, numerous bumps on his head, scratches on his nose and forehead. We try to avoid most of them, but he doesn't allways pay attention to where he is going.  I guess this is something I will have to get used to having a little boy running around.  Or I could wrap him in bubble wrap and put a helmet on him?  The thought definitley crossed my mind.....haha!

Funny story about this crazy man.  He sure loves running around with just a diaper on.  He likes it even better when he is naked.  Ususally it consists of Owen twirling and running around the house giggling  Well, one morning I was getting ready to go to the dentist and for some reason Ethan and I did not put Owen's diaper back on after changing him in the morning.  Ethan walked into Owen's room to find him standing there with his hand raised to throw something.....well it was a turd.  Ethan tells Owen "You don't throw poop!"  as he put Owen in the bath tub.  I never laughed so hard!  I guess we learned our lesson to not let the little man run around naked for too long ;-)

The thought of coloring eggs for Easter with an almost 16 month old may sound nuts, but we actually had a great time and Owen sure enjoyed it. He was pretty patient until the last couple of minutes when he started spilling the dyed water on purpose, but he was a great helper in cleaning up the mess ;-)

Now, for some pictures!

Daddy put a sticker on my nose.

We had to hide the uncolored eggs because Owen wanted to put them all in the same cup.  Mommy helps by handing out the eggs.

Good job Owen!

Uh Oh!  We spilled!

"Don't worry Mom, I'll clean it up!"

The finished product....looks like some are a little cracked.  We had a blast!

Doesn't he look like such a big boy?

Loves to play with sticks!
