BW2

How far along are you?

34 weeks 2 days.  Had an appointment this morning and measured a week small.  Owen and Daddy came with and Owen was pretty excited to hear the babies heart beat....so cute!

Total weight gain?
I picked up 1 pound since my last visit 2 weeks ago.  Still quite a bit under what I was with Owen.  I feel like I am eating all the time and am having a hard time believing the scale because I feel pretty big.

How big is baby?
About 4 3/4 pounds

Maternity clothes?
yup....sweats at home ;-)

sleep?
hit or miss....Owen still takes about a 2 hour nap everyday, so I have been taking advantage of this and catching a nap when I can.

movements?
BW2 continues to be a wild child

food cravings?
same FRUIT, FRUIT, FRUIT

what I'm looking forward to?
finishing my "nesting."  I have been starting to go a little nutty getting things ready for baby.....and making sure Daddy helps me too!  Sorry Daddy for my craziness!

Side effects
I haven't been feeling the best.
Soooooo tired!
On Saturday I had an episode of my heart rate racing and I was short of breath.  I was at work, so I hooked myself up to a monitor and it was about 135 bpm with no irregularities.  I talked with my midwife this morning and she didn't seem too concerned, but if it happens again she will order a cardiology consult.  Hopefully it was just my bodies way of telling me to slow down.

No pics for now...hopefully one this week!  Owen and I are off to enjoy the day, seriously 44 degrees in January??  We are LOVIN it!

A January Birthday

Saturday was Mommy's Day out with the ladies, while Owen and Daddy played and went out to breakfast.

No pictures from Daddy and Owen's day, but they tell me it was a good day ;-)

On to Mommy's Day.  Typically we celebrate my Grandma Dorene's and my Aunt Susan's birthday in January.....so this birthday lunch was a little bittersweet.  We decided to channel any talent that we may have inherited from our beloved Reny and we headed to a pottery studio to try and paint something.  It was a fun and relaxing day.  Afterwards we went out to lunch.  I sure enjoyed the day out with some of my favorite women.

Sisters!  The birthday girl and my mom

Such concentration!

The girls and our finished products

Another one of the ladies....we were missing Kelley, but hopefully she can make it next time.

Tomorrow is Grandma's ("GiGi") birthday.....We wish you a very happy birthday in heaven and wish you were still here to celebrate with us.....I LOVE YOU and miss you!

32 weeks

Well almost 33 weeks....not 2 weeks early!  I had no clue that this year is leap year (thanks to one of my patients for bringing this to my attention) and I really don't want to have a leap day baby.....I already have an almost Christmas baby.....no more holiday babies for this momma!

I think it just hit me that we are having another baby.  Life has been pretty busy the last 5 months and now I have had time to focus on preparing for Baby #2.  I have been busy trying to organize the house.  Also going through baby items and washing some gender neutral clothes.  It actually has been fun to see all the cute outfits that Owen wore (and hard to believe that another baby will wear them).  We are already more ready for this baby then we were with Owen.

We are continuing to struggle with names, however we have a good list started.....we really have only been looking at names for the last week or so.

Total weight gain?
about 20 pounds, Suprisingly I weigh quite a bit less then I did when I was this pregnant with Owen....I hope this continues, but my sweet tooth has started to kick in....well I have been letting it kick in.  I failed my 1 hour glucose test and had to take the 3 hour (which thankfully I passed a couple days after Christmas which helped me stay away from Christmas treats!)

How big is baby?
3.75 pounds and now is time for the big growth in the next 7 weeks.  I read that and laughed because I honestly feel like I am already running out of room for this baby.

Maternity clothes?
You bet, but sweatpants are so much better!  I do like wearing sweater dresses that are non-maternity.  Being petite and materning clothes is a nightmare really.

sleep?
As long as I can shut my mind off of projects or things I want/need to get done I sleep great.  I still don't have to get up at night and go to the bathroom, however I am running to bathroom more during the day now....so having to get up at night might be coming.  I am still sleeping in bed, with Owen I slept on the couch (which also has reclining areas) because of such bad heartburn.  I continue to have very minimal heartburn

movements?
Oh yeah, constantly!

food cravings?
FRUIT especially bananas, kiwis, blueberries, strawberries and apples (I usually eat all of these everyday), peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches and homemade yogurt parfaits with fruit and granola.  I have craved brownie sundaes and a couple of weeks ago I had a strong craving for McDonald's french fries.

food aversions?
none really, but I would really rather not eat meat or cooked vegetables, however I found out I am anemic and probably should eat more red meat and spinach salads, but I am now taking an iron supplement and hope that helps.

what I'm looking forward to?
Meeting this little sweetie, introducing the baby to his/her big brother, snuggling with baby and daddy after the birth.

what I'm not looking forward to?
LABOR AND DELIVERY!  Bold and capital letters!  Adjusting to the challeges of going from 1 child to 2 and finding enough time for both of them.  It is hard for me to believe that Owen won't be my baby

Here is a picture of all of us.  My friend Michelle took some pics of us.  I am working on editing some of the other ones, I thought this one was pretty cute though.

BIG boy

update on Owen's 2 year appointment

Ever since Owen was born he has been my little peanut.  He is allways around the 25th-30the percentile for height, weight, and head circumference.....well no more of that!

Despite him continuing to be a picky eater (if he eats at all).  Owen has increased to the 60th percentile for weight (28.2 pounds) and 75th percentile for height (36 inches or 3 feet).  Pretty major growth spurt for my "little man."

Keep on Growing little boy!

2 Year Post!

Here are some things about my favorite 2 year old little boy!  He sure is a joy and I can't imagine my life without him.  I also will add some pictures at the end.  I have been trying to learn my camera and take some pics of my little man, however 2 year old's are not the best subjects in fact Owen usually ends up saying "stop it" to me when I try to get him to look at me....I am learning some tricks though including a little bribery ;-)

No weight or height stats, Owen has his 2 year appointment next week.  He does however seem to be about average fitting into 2T clothes and some 18-24 months pants, however they are getting a little short.

Has moved to a toddler bed!  I think this was harder on Ethan and I then on Owen.  He doesn't even get out of bed without yelling "momma help.  Owen continues to sleep like a champ as long as we stick to our bedtime routine (play, bath, little bit of TV/snuggling with mom or dad and then read books) he goes to bed really easy too.  He has also let Daddy put him to sleep a few times, which makes mom a little sad, but grateful that when the baby arrives Daddy will be able to help more without causing a meltdown.

Has been talking like CRAZY!  I can't believe what a difference a couple of months make.  Here are some of my favorite Owen sayings:

"What you doing there Momma?"  He always wants to know what you are doing and help
"Sorry Momma"-----Owen is Mr. Polite and says sorry for almost everything, even when he accidenlty bumps the dogs he says sorry to them.....such a cutie!
"please" and "thank-you" ----Again Mr. Polite!  He says thank-you for almost anything even if you are cleaning and rotating toys he says "Thank-you Momma or Daddy."
"Let's do it!"---If we ask him if he wants to do something he says this....it really is so cute!
"Stop it"----not my favorite in fact it lands him in a timeout occasionally, but he does say this when we tell him something he doesn't want to hear or make him do something he doesn't want to do.
"Get Outta There!"  Owen repeats a lot of things, and he is really good at repeating what we yell at Nellie and Lucy.  If they even get close to getting into anything he reminds them to "Get Outta There!"  He yells at them a lot when we are hiking and they go off the trail

He calls his Grandma's "Punkin."  Seriously so cute!  We have been trying to get him to say Grandma forever and we thought he was starting to say it, but all of a sudden he started calling them "punkin"  My mom has been calling Owen her little pumpkin since I was pregnant and so now it has stuck the other way around.  Now that he has a name for grandma he fake "calls" Bupa and Punkin and has little conversations with them on the phone.

LOVES letters and numbers.  Mostly letters are his favorite and he can define most letters of the alphabet.  He spells his name every night before he goes to bed about 20 times (His name is on his wall above his bed).

Continues to be ALL boy!  Loves trucks, building things, trains, tractors, hiking, kicking balls.

Favorite shows are Cars, Word World, and Ice Age (Owen calls "Diners" for Dinosaurs)

Such a good helper around the house.  He likes to empty the dishwasher, help dust/wipe down tables, clean up spills on the floor, vacuum, feeds the dogs,  helps pick up toys, and more recently LOVES to shovel.  He is going to make a great big brother!

Here are some pictures of my big boy!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from us to you!

2011 flew by.  I mean really I can't believe we just celebrated Owen's 2nd birthday, his 3rd Christmas, and are now 10 weeks away from meeting our 2nd child.....CRAZY!

We decided to have a nice mellow New Year's Eve.  We cooked some GREAT food with my mom and dad, mom watched Owen while Ethan and I got a few things done, and Grandpa started a fire.  Even the girls joined in on the fun.  Mommy was exhausted and went to bed even before east coast new year, oh well maybe next year I will make it past midnight ;-)

Owen making sure we all know that the fire is "HOT"

The next 2 pictures are of Marley, or Mar-Mar which Owen calls him.  He is my mom and dad's cat, he has never paid any attention to me, except when my mom and dad were out of town and I was responsible for feeding him, then he was loving me.  Owen LOVES him and for being a siamese who typically aren't all that social Marley seems to get excited when Owen is in the house (he actually comes out of hiding!)  He also is a great mouser!

He was very interested in the camera!

What a pretty Christmas kitty!  He also had much more patience then Owen!

yummy food, prior to cooking

and after...yummy!

Cheers for Grandpa, he actually cheered us all, but I only had time to grab my camera for the last one....I guess he saved the best for last ;-)

What has "Bupa" been teaching Owen?  HAHA, we all know how my dad likes his snacks....I think Owen is following in his footsteps....good thing he does all that walking ;-)

Happy New Year!

We look forward to seeing what happens in 2012.  We hope it is full of good health and happiness!  We are very excited to be expanding our family this year!

Webinger Family Christmas

Last Christmas post.....I promise!  We sure are lucky to have so many wonderful people to see over the holidays.

Friday and Saturday we were able to celebrate Christmas with the Webinger crew.  Owen loved seeing everyone, especially his buddy Noah.  Owen LOVES Noah, or No-No which is what Owen calls him. Owen followed Noah around and copied almost everything he did.  It was so sweet to see this.

Owen and his favorite toy at the Webinger's.  It is an old Fischer Price train that Ethan played with when he was a kid.  Toys don't really ever go out of style!

Breakfast, Owen's favorite sausage and french toast!

The paper is so much fun!

Owen and Noah watching the Iowa game.....Noah is sporting his new jersey!  Owen kept moving to sit just like Noah and as close as he could get.....I can't get over how cute it was.

Happy Miss Lauren

Owen was good with Lauren.  He giggled when she army crawled over to him and touched him.  Saying "baby touch hand, mouth."  Lauren wanted a taste of his fingers....lol, it was pretty darn cute ;-)  He also gave her some kisses and even got a couple back.  She is the only baby that he has been around so it was a good start!

She is just so darn sweet, and what a wonderful baby she is!

Considering Owen was bribed and force into this photo, it sure turned out pretty good!

Smith Family Christmas

Having my little brother home for a week was SOOOOO nice!  He even helped babysit Owen the 1 day I had to work last week.  It was nice to have the day after Christmas off, normally my work would be open, but this year was an exception.

We headed back to Grandma and Grandpa Smith's on Monday and spent a fun day of hiking, eating leftovers, playing with some of Owen's new toys, and relaxing!  I think Nellie and Lucy especially enjoyed this day!

Looking at the birds?

Little man off on his own, doesn't want to wait for us or stop hiking!

due to  alittle too much hiking, the last 100 yards Owen ended up riding on Daddy's shoulders

 wrapping paper frustration ;-)

Owen LOVES the grinch and Grandma found an ornament that plays the song.  We will remember every year we put the tree up Owen's obsession with the grinch.  He even sings a long to it, so cute!

Just prior to a toddler meltdown that lead to the destruction of 2 ornaments.....and some momma tears.  Thankfully all is good with the ornament situation now ;-)

This boy loves getting new books!

Playing with his new train set.....Owen LOVES it!

Owen with his "Bupa" and "Punkin" Smith....why punkin?  Well, my mom has been calling Owen her little pumpkin since before he was born and one day my mom was going back to her car to grab something when she just got to my house and Owen yelled "punkin come here" out the door.  He also calls his Grandma Webinger punkin too!  It is pretty cute ;-)

Visiting the rotary lights with Adam....much warmer our second time around and much better moods for all of us ;-)

Christmas Day

On with the Christmas blogging......it has been a long 3 weeks of celebrating for this family.....momma has been catching up on some rest and just plain being home.  Owen hasn't had the chance to play with most of his new toys from his birthday/christmas yet so we have been getting in some major in door playtime  (and cleaning, laundry, etc. for mom and dad) the last couple of days.

Christmas Day we spent the long morning at home (SO NICE!) and then Owen and I headed to my mom and dad's to help prepare for my Dad's side of the family to come over.  Ethan headed to Rushford to enjoy some time with the Erdmann crew.  I promised Owen (to get him out of the house) that we would go for a walk when we got to my mom and Dad's.  It was so warm and sunny that I thought it would be a great time to try out shooting manual with my new camera......Owen wanted nothing to do with it, in fact everytime I tried to take a picture he told me to "stop it."  My little sweetie has turned into a little bit of a sassy boy (we are working on this!).  What can I say the boy loves to walk and I am very happy that he does, but sometimes I wish he would just relax, he was definitley a man on a mission that day ;-)

"stop it momma!"

Little Man on a mission

Owen was a little tired from the night before and all the excitement of Christmas morning, so he took a REALLY long later afternoon nap and didn't wake up until halftime of the Packer game.  Needless to say he was probably hungry and a little cranky from waking up at Grandma and Grandpa's with a house full of people.  Eventually he settled down and enjoyed some time with everyone.

My grandma and Mom

Me and my mom.....I look huge standing next to her ;-)  But, I feel great, so far!  Only a couple more months to go.....momma is starting to get a little nesting anxiety!  That will be another post.

Post nap snuggle with Daddy, What did parents do before laptops, I-phones and I-pad's to entertain and calm down REALLY crabby kids??

Hugs for Great-Grandma!
