Go Pack Go....and a birthday!

We had a very fun weekend in the Webinger house.

First...Daddy came home Thursday night!  We definitley missed him.  We did have 2 playdates and Owen's 'Auntie' Kelley came over to play too one night.

Saturday afternoon I went out to lunch with my favorite ladies.  It was a lunch for my Grandma and Aunt Susie's birthdays.  I had a wonderful time.  I love Owen, but it sure was nice to be out in public without having to chase him around.  I think Daddy and I need to get out more ;-)  Mom and I hit up a little bit of shopping and planned for our big NFC Championship Packer/Bear game menu.

The Birthday Girls!

The whole crew!

Geez, it was another close one, but my favorite team came out on top at the end.  Sweet!  Super Bowl!  Who would have thought??  If you can't tell, I am really excited!

Owen is just one of the guys

New Owen things:

This is the last week at his current daycare, he will be starting his "Big Boy" Daycare on Monday.....sad!  We will miss Linda so much!  Good thing she only lives a couple of blocks away and we can stop in to visit.  Owen will also miss Linda's dog Budah.  They have become really good friends the past 11 months.

Owen learned to drive his "baby four-wheeler" that my parents bought for him.  We are still working on the steering part of it.  My brother said that Owen is already a better driver than I was....haha, I kind of agree though ;-)  I will have to post some pictures or a video, it really is so funny!

We are back to teething.  I swear you get over colds and then it is on to something else.  The poor guys has been pretty miserable the past week, but ibprofen seems to help.  Lots of drool though!

We have been playing at the Children's museum and Owen loves it!  We bought Owen a year pass for his bithday and it so much fun.  Owen enjoys watching all the kids, playing in the water in the Mississippi River replica, and just basically being able to run around like a crazy man!  I am so thankful to have a place to take him....we were starting to get a little stir crazy being inside all the time.

attempting to climb fences already??

no time to look at the camera when there is water and boats to play with

1 year photos and update

We were a little late taking Owen's 1 year photos.  With all the activities (and colds) we had over the last month we really didn't have time to fit it in.  But, I am glad we waited.  Right before our session started it started snowing.  The snowflakes were so big.  We had planned to do some outdoor shots, but i was afraid it was going to be too snowy.  Apparently not!  Owen was a trooper.  Daddy came with and we got some family photos too.  Sarah Petersen with Sarah Schultz Photography is so amazing!

It really does melt my heart seeing these adorable pictures of Owen.  I feel like Sarah captured so much of his personality in these photos.

 Here is a sneak peak:

These preview shots are so good, I can't wait to get all of them back....how am I going to be able to choose which ones to order??

I am happy to report that I think we are at the end of our cold.  Now we just have to keep that nasty norovirus out of the house too!  We have however moved on to teething.  Owen has been pretty iritable the last few days.  It is also becoming a challenge to find things for us to do to keep his mind busy.  Owen's favorite little budy Landon is feeling better too, so we have scheduled some more playdates which I am sure will help.  They love playing with eachother's toys.  Now if we can just work on that sharing part ;-)

The last week has been pretty mellow.  Which has been great for catching up on rest.  We had Owen's 1 year appointment.  He is doing great with all his developmental milestones.  He does continue to struggle with eating, but his pediatrician wasn't concerned.  One day Owen will love a certain food and the next time he eats it he may love it or he may hate it!  He continues to have a strong gag reflex and once or twice a week will vomit his food.  I believe he is doing it because he doesn't like what is in his mouth and doesn't know how to sipt it out.

Here are his 1 year stats:

weight: 20.4 pounds.....10th percentile
height: 2 feet 5 inches.......40th percentile

He did drop a little on weight this last check-up, however he started walking too and has been quite active with that.

We are off to my parents house today to cheer on the Packers.....GO PACK GO!

Hi Luebke's, if you are reading this.....we had to break out that Aaron Rodgers shirt you gave Owen early!

More Christmas fun

We try to exchange gifts with my mom, dad and brother on Christmas morning, however we usually end up being too busy and wait for the day after or on the weekend, depending on everyone's schedules.  Since we all had the day after Christmas free it turned out wonderful.  Ethan made some fantastic egg Nogg pancakes and we enjoyed some fun time playing outside!

Owen oficially is the SLOWEST present opener ever....I am sure that will change soon.  It is pretty cute though.  He could entertain himself for a long time just unwrapping!

"oooooh, what is it?"

Every baby needs his own  4 wheeler. Owen thinks he is pretty cool riding this one around
Currently his favorite thing to do is push the button that makes it move and walk along with it....and he just gives us a cheesy grin....too funny!

It was actually quite nice out, so we headed out for a little sledding.  Owen was just giggling when we went down the hills!

 Out with the whole crew!

Mommy's turn

My mom had a few days off work after Christmas.  We enjoyed some post Christmas shopping....fun visits, and a wonderful sunny afternoon for a walk/sled ride along the trails around their home.

 "ready Owen?"

Our girls got some much needed exercise as well!
happy girls!

I think this Christmas was really so much fun!  I made a point to just take a step back from the hustle and bustle and enjoy all the wonderful moments around the people I love so much.  I have said it before and I will say it again, I truley believe that we have the BEST families anyone could ask for.

Christmas Day

What a difference a year makes!

Christmas Morning 2010

Christmas Morning 2009

Christmas morning was wonderful.  Ethan, Owen and I (and girls) at home all warm in our jammies.  Owen was entertaining us opening his presents from Santa.

Yay!  Presents!
Daddy was feeling under the weather still with a cold and Owen was ready for an early nap (from all the fun Christmas Eve). I headed out in the snow with my mom to the hospital to visit my Aunt Susie. She was doing much better and was even able to go home. Yay! We had a wonderful visit and it was so good to see her feeling better.

We headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Smith's for Christmas day celebrations with my dad's sisters and their families along with my grandparents.  Again wonderful food.  We are still struggling to find things that Owen will eat however he loved the ham and buns!

"I'm gonna get you Mommy!"

Grandpa and his Snuggie!  haha!  Mystery gift exchanges was a success!

I guess I was busy chasing Owen around and didn't get very pictures.....shoot!  It is getting really hard to take pictures of Owen since he is on the move so much.  He is oficially walking.  Kind of sad that we won't be seeing his cute little butt crawling around the house.  He still crawls sometimes, but is walking more and more.  I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a video.

Christmas Eve

Sorry this update took so long, I was having trouble uploading pictures.  On to the good stuff.....

Christmas was definitley celebrated differently this year when compared to last year.  A 3 day old baby and 4 Christmas parties was a little crazy last year.  Although we were very busy this holiday season, it was all fun!

Despite Ethan and I recovering from another rough cold Christmas Eve started out fantastic with some home time for Owen with mommy and daddy.

He is such a good helper ;-)

We then headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Webinger's for some fun.  Despite threat of some bad weather, we were all able to be together.  Family really makes the holidays special.  Grandma turned the music on and Owen entertained us with his dancing skills.

Playing the piano with grandpa

After a wonderful dinner at the Webinger home, we headed over to my Aunt Kathy's for some more fun. After arriving we learned that my Aunt Susie was taken to the emergency room. This was a very scary time for all of us. We went on with the festivites, however we decieded to not open any presents and all get together on New Years Day for the Badger game and some fun. Thankfully Susie is doing very well. She does need to recover some more....if you are reading this Susie....take it easy! We love you!

"give me some more cookies Adam!"

the boys!

All the grandkids (minus Christopher) and grandpa

All the grandkids and Gradma....again minus Christopher

We then headed back to the Webinger house for some present opening and some snacking

Owen stayed up WAY past his bedtime, although he wasn't crabby at all.  We settled in at home to wait for Santa ;-)
