Off to Iowa

Ethan and I took a couple of days off work and headed to Iowa to see Luke, Paula, and Noah and join in the elebration of Luke & Paula's wedding reception.  We had a really nice time, their new home is lovely, we love how peaceful it is.

This was our first time traveling with Owen.  We are very blessed to have so many family members live locally, so we have not had to travel up to this point.  Our lives have definitley changed!  I feel like we packed half our house and it took twice as long to get anywhere.  It was a wonderful exprience though.  We feel confident that we can go more places now that we survived this trip.

Owen wasn't the best traveler in fact if he wasn't sleeping or being read to (2 particular 5 page books with about 4 words per page)  he was pretty much screaming.  He hates his car seat.

Due to Owen's crabbiness we didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few!  Thanks Luke, Paula, and Noah for letting us crash at your house!  A big Thanks to Noah for all his help with Owen.  Owen really enjoyed all the attention!

I hate my car seat!
We stopped at Cabela's on the way...Owen loved it!  He had to get a new hat too!

Another break!  Time for a picnic.

8 months!

Here are some of the things I don't want to forget about my "not so little anymore" Little Man!

1.  The way he sticks his tounge out when he is concentrating really hard on trying to do something.

2.  His goofy grin when I get him out of his crib in the morning and after naps.

3.  His babbling......"bahp, bahp, bahp, bahp, bahp, bahp"

4.  Playing with things like spoons and bats and swings them in the air or uses them as a hammer

5.  His new "worm" crawling....he launches himself forward 3 or 4 times in a row to get something

6.  He is a bit of a mommy's boy.....I secretly enjoy this ;-)

7.  His "skydiving" tummy moves where he is on his tummy and kicks his legs out and arms out like a skydiver would....so funny!  He has been doing this since he was 5 months old.

8.  Is is sad that I think he is just as cute when has his sad face on?

Happy 8 Months Owen!

River Rats!

We survivied a whole day on the river with Owen.  He enjoyed watching the guys fish, playing in the sand, helping grandpa drive the pontoon.  We had a really nice, actually relaxing day.  Here are some pics from the day:

Owen's first time seeing a fish...he's not so sure about this one!

Pit stop to play a little and cool off

Happy Boy!

Owen had some fans come into town too.  His great Aunt Annie and cousins Cindy and Kerry visited.  He was a pretty good boy.  I think he was still tired from the trip on the river, but still very entertaining.  Thanks ladies for coming down to see us!  We hope to see you again soon.

At the end of the day....we love snuggling with our guy.  He is allways wanting to be on the go, so when he settles down and doesn't mind snuggling, we eat it up!  Have a nice week.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Man, we have had a couple Hot weeks.  Owen loves to be outside, so a lot of our time is spent in his pool.  He is doing such a good job at sitting up that it is really fun for him now.

Playing in the pool with his favorite buddy Landon.

Owen loves to play with Landon.....notice the spoon in his hand, it is now his favorite toy.
Ethan and I did give Owen a bath twice outside last week, he loved it!  He would have stayed in the pool all day if I let him.

Splashing away

My favorite time on a hot day is morning walks with Owen and stopping by the park to swing....doesn't he look like such a big boy!

Last weekend we had the Gilles and Hamill families in town, however we were having so much fun, I did't get out my camera....We did make it to Irish Fest while the kids went swimming.  We enjoyed some tasty beverages and music.  Thank-you so much for coming to visit us!  Here is the one picture I took all weekend.....I promise he didn't drink any ;-)

Sunday was beautiful, and we had a nice break from the heat.....we took advantage of this and went on a hike with the girls.  And cuddled under a tree in the shade.

Loving the fall-like day!

The girls enjoying some camera time and the beautiful day.

Having a snack in the shade...it was cool enough for a sweatshirt!

A special congrats today to the Korbmacher family on the surprise 3 week early arrival of their son Willam Luke (Will)  Happy Birthday to Will!!!!  We can't wait to meet you and we are glad everyone is healthy.

Parties and lazy sundays!

We have done a little bit of celebrating the last couple of weeks.  My aunt Kathy turned 50 (did I say 50, I meant 40......lol.....actually really 50).  We took a house boat to Trempleau for dinner.  It was a wonderful time.  It was so nice to all be together to celebrate one of the kindest, sweetest, beautiful women I know.  Love ya Kathy!

Mommy went out to celebrate Sarah's bachelorette.....very fun!  We can't wait to oficially welcome Sarah to this crazy family in October.

Otherwise we have really been just hanging around the house.

-A new favorite......going on runs with daddy!  This is great, because Owen is turning into a mommy's boy lately, so I can get a few things done while the boys are out.

Going to the park, Owen likes to swing and he especially likes watching the kids play

Owen seems to do really well "scooting" around on his tummy and rolling to get places....we think he is pretty close to crawling.
