6 months!?

Owen turned 6 months old last week.  Seriously where does the time go?  Here are some of my favorite things about Owen:

- His Smile
Owen (most of the time) sleeps through the night, and has been since he was 3 weeks old
(yes we know how lucky we are).  When he wakes up in the morning he plays in his crib for awhile which lets his mom and dad sleep in a little on the weekends (sometimes even till 8:00).  Anyways, he has the biggest cheesiest grin on his face when we go in to get him out of his crib.

-His laugh
His favorite things to laugh at are his mom & dad, and the girls.  I think he likes dogs as much as his mommy.  He has such a cute giggle.

-Owen's eyes
Wherever we are someone is allways commenting on his big blue eyes.  They really are amazing and they are set off by some thick beautiful eyelashes too (thanks to daddy!).  I love how he looks back at us.

The best days that I have with Owen are one's where we have nothing going on and we can roll around and play.

Playing with mommy

What Owen is up to these days:
-Owen started hating his cereal, so we started giving him sweet potatoes 1 meal per day and he LOVES them!

-Rolling all over the place and has just started to get up on all fours and rock a little
-Puts everything in his mouth
-Loves to be read to
-With a couple of speed bumps last week, this week he is back to sleeping through the night for 10-11 hours & 3 naps per day
-Plays with his feet
-Moves around in his crib
-Can sit up unassisted for a short amount of time
-Babbles
-Hates being in his car seat/being in the car
-Likes to go for walks and swing at the park
-Loves to ride around in his little tykes car....sometimes it is the only thing that will keep him happy
-Playing with daddy and mommy, especially loves getting kisses on his neck/belly.....he giggles like crazy

Our lives sure have changed in the last 6 months.  We really can't remember what life was like without Owen.  I can't wait to see what comes next!

We celebrated 2 other birthday's last week too, Grandpa Smith and Seth.

It was pretty warm out last weekend, so we tested out the pool with Owen.  He loved it at first, but after a few minutes he wasn't too sure about it.

Busy Family!

We continue to be quite the busy family on the weekends.  I feel like we only sleep at home.  Fortunately Owen and I find some time during the week to catch up on cleaning, running errands, and playing outside.

My cousin Sam graduated from Winona State in the spring.  We celebrated on Saturday with lots of lawn games, music, great food, laughs, and of course wonderful company.  It was great to be outside enjoying the good weather.  Congratulations Sammy!  Welcome to the real world!

Celebrating Father's day this year was extra special for us.  I have allways loved Ethan, but the day he became a father I found a new love for him.  Watching him with Owen is amazing.  Ethan allways takes time to play with him, and Owen loves this.

Then......

Now.....

Ethan was lacking pictures of Owen on his desk, so we decided to make a project for him.  First project for Owie and I!  I turned my head for a second to set down the paper....and Owen had paint everywhere!  Thank goodness for non-toxic washable finger paints!

the finished product

We are very lucky to have our fathers and my grandpa's living near us. We got to celebrate with my Dad and grandpa Woodshed as well as Larry. They sure are wonderful Dad's and grandpa's!
Such hard workers, even on father's day

Grandpa, finally taking a break with Owen

Lucy really loved watching the kite.....funny girl!

We survived!

Our family has survived a few more firsts of Owen's......

We had our first fever/cold.  Owen was quite crabby and his mommy was quite stressed out.  But, thankfully it only lasted a few days and Owen is now back to his happy self.  Ethan and I took Owen for many walks when he was sick, it seemed to be the only thing that would make him happy.

Poor red eyed boy!

Snuggling with mommy

What Owen wants, Owen gets (walk #6 of the day)

Owen ate his first cereal.  The first time he wasn't so sure about it, but we tried again a couple of days later and he really liked it.  Maybe he thought it was funny to make such a mess for me to clean up!

This last Friday Ethan and I traveled to Appleton for a wedding.  We left Owen behind with Grandma and Grandpa Smith.  It was easier than I thought to leave, but we sure were happy to get home and see our (not so little anymore) Little Man.  Sorry no pictures from the wedding, apparently I am no longer capable of taking pictures other than ones with Owen in them.

Does Grandma and Grandpa know what they are in for?
Owen says:"Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out Mom and Dad"

We celebrated my cousin Hunter's graduation.....such a fun party.  I wished that Ethan and I were a little more rested to stay longer at the party, but after a late night at the wedding (and a few drinks), we went home a little early.

The party animal, Finley

Sam and Owen, just chillin

Congratulations Hunter!

Good thing we went home early, because Owen kept us up most the night (apparently Owen missed us too!) Sunday morning we made our way over to Ethan's family camping spot along the root river. Owen enjoyed some time outside watching everyone play.

Hanging out with Noah

What a busy couple of weeks!

Memorial Day Weekend

What a wonderful weekend it was!  We saw lots of friends and family and ate lots of yummy food.  It was a great kick of to the summer.  It was full of lots of activities and a bunch of firsts for Owen.  We took a bunch of pictures too.  I think Owen may be teething so, he was a little bit crabby, but he is quite the trooper.
Hanging out with mommy outside.  Owen loves being outside and sometimes it is the only way to calm him down if he is upset.

Owen's first Grill out and bonfire (forgot to take a picture of Owen mesmerized by the fire)

Grandma has the majic touch!

First time sitting in the grass......not sure what he thinks about it.  He didn't scream or squirm, so it must not have been too bad for him.

Sitting on grandpa's lawn tractor.  He loves watching the big boys mow.

Owen's first trip on the river.  He loved feeling the wind blow in his hair.  Thanks Al and Donna for having us on your boat, we had a really nice time.

Owen's first parade to celebrate memorial day with the Webinger's.  Owen loved the band and watching the big fire trucks.....I think ;-)

Grandma and Owen waiting for the parade to start

Loving a snuggle with Aunt Leah

Happy Memorial Day, Grandpa!

Another grill out, and Owen was so funny laughing at Sonny (the dog). I just love his giggle, it is the BEST!

Man, my baby is getting big!

Owen thought Sonny was just hillarious

I love that smile!!!!
