OWEN'S 1ST BDAY!!

We have been MIA the last couple of weeks......we were so busy with Owen's party, another sickness in the Webinger house and Christmas!  We had a wonderful time with family and friends.

OWEN's BIRTHDAY

I really can't believe my little baby is one already, I feel like we just brought him home yesterday.  He has changed from a baby into this cute sweet little boy in such a short time.  We thank God for him everyday and grow to love him more and more.
From this little baby!

To this BIG boy!

We had a wonderful time at Owen's party.  He didn't like his cake all that much.  After touching the frosting he was mad and didn't want anymore.  He did love everyone singing to him.  He opened a ton of wonderful presents from family and friends and has enjoyed playing with all his new toys since then.

Here are some pics from Owen's big day:

Happy Birthday Owen!

Last Wednesday was Owen's official birthday and we celebrated by taking Owen down to the Rotary Lights.  It was a lot of fun.  We saw reindeer, climbed into Santa's sleigh, went to a Christmas music sing-a-long in a heated tent and walked through thousands of lights.  The line to see Santa was way too long, and we had already saw him a few weeks before.  It was a lot of fun.  Owen also opened a few more presents from Ethan and I.

Busy!

It has been awhile since the last time I posted.  We had a nasty cold invade our house while trying to get our basement remodled before Owen's Big 1st Birthday Bash this weekend.....I CAN'T BELIEVE my little boy is going to be 1 next week.

Friday we participated in the Holiday parade for Daddy's work.  Owen loved all the lights and met Santa at the after party!

All bundled up for the parade

What is the Deal with this Guy?  Owen wasn't afraid at all!

Daddy has been working very hard on the basement. Saturday Grandma Linda was going to watch Owen for a couple of hours while Daddy and Mommy painted.....this turned into Owen getting snowed in at the Smith house. We were only anticipating 6 inches of snow which turned into 14 with Blizzard conditions. Mommy only packed enough formula and diapers to last until Sunday morning.

So, after Ethan and I got stuck trying to make it out to their house Sunday Mommy had to hike through drifts up to her waist about 1/2 mile.  I will now never walk through that much snow ever again!

Owen has been quite the character these days.  He likes to do this grunt/growl thing that is so funny.  He started doing it just when he was eating, but he has started doing it all the time.
Some of Owen's favorite things:
-Playing hide and seek/Peek-a-Boo
-Patty Cake
-Loves opening and closing doors/drawers and especially the dog crate ;-)
-Music, Owen loves his radio/CD player in his room
-Loves to Dance to music
-Loves string cheese, applesauce, bread, almost anything that anyone else has on their plate and not what is on his (stinker!)
-He does this cheesy smile thing and crinkles up his nose

Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks:
There's that cheesy grin
 Look at those teeth!

 In the dog crate

He is starting to look more like daddy!

When we first put up our Christmas tree we put a barrier around it so Owen wouldn't get into it, but he doesn't really bother it at all, so we took the barrier away and he just looks at the lights and will gently touch the branches.

 Thank goodnes for shatterless bulbs!

Thanksgiving & a Christmas Tree

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year......Ethan and I agree that we are most thankful for having Owen here with us to celebrate Thanksgiving!  It is hard to believe that last year at this time he wasn't here and we were anxiously awaiting his arrival.

Owen fell asleep in his highchair in the morning....apparently 5:30 am is too early for him too!
Owen usually gets up between 6:45 & 7:30

Thanksgiving dinner has to be my favorite all year long.  Turkey, sweet potoatoes, cranberries etc....We all really look forward to my Grandma Doris' Hershey Almond Pie!  Yummy!

Friday night, we had a night out to dinner and it was really fun.  Ethan and I don't do that too often, so it was nice to get out just the 2 of us.  Owen had a sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house, and they all had a really nice time.

I did have to work/be on call over the weekend, but we did get a chance on Sunday to get our Christmas Tree.  Growing up my family allways cut down our tree and when I married Ethan we have done the same.  It is really fun to bring Owen along with us now to do the same.  He wasn't too thrilled about it, but he likes to be outside, so that was fun.

Sunday night we celebrated Thanksgiving with Ethan's family and Ethan's birthday!  Happy Birthday to Daddy.....Thanksgiving round 2 was AWESOME too!

I hope to decorate our tree this week and finish decorating the house.  Owen especially loves the lights that daddy put on the house!
