3 month photos preview

I survived my first week back to work, despite fighting off a cold.  Thankfully Ethan and Owen are staying healthy

This is a short post, and then I have to get back to caring for Owen and Nellie.  Nellie had her ACL repaired yesterday.  So far she is doing okay with pain medication.  Lots of Physical Therapy including icing and massage over the next couple of weeks.  She is such a trooper!

Owen turned 3 months on Monday......Where did the time go?  Here is a sneak peak at his 3 month professional photos, we should get the rest back in a couple of weeks. 

Owen's Baptism

We had Owen's baptism last Sunday.  It was a wonderful day to spend with our family.  Owen is so blessed to have so many people that love him.  I was surprised that 20 people fit comfortably in our house.  It was oficially our first party and it went great.  Some photos from the day:

Owen took a really long nap after brunch (thanks to Great-Grandma Esther for rocking him to sleep!).  We had to bring his cake in by him to take a photo....a little silly!

After the party festivities were over.  We took Owen on his first hike, great grandpa "Woodshed" and grandma Linda also came with to enjoy the beautiful weather!

I went back to work yesterday.  I didn't realize leaving him was going to be so hard.  I had the "ugly" tears before, during, and after I dropped him off.  Thankfully I was better by the time I was in the parking lot at work.   We LOVE Linda (Owen's child care provider) she is wonderful and loving.  We are so happy to have her care for Owen while we are at work.  It was just a sad day for me after being home with Owen for 12 weeks.  Owen and Daddy surprised me and sent flowers to work, that sure made my day!

Unfortunately Owen gave Linda a run for her money.  He had 2 diaper explosions and had to change his clothes twice.  Thankfully she is taking him back tomorrow, despite the messes he made ;-)  She named him the "Optimum Pooper"  We were a little worried because he normally sleeps till 7:00 ish in the morning and with having to set the clocks ahead on Sunday we didn't know how it would go, but he was a champ!  We went on a nice long walk when we got home, it was the perfect end to an emotional day.

Great Weather

Well maybe not great yet, but when you live in Minnesota 40 degrees almost feels like summer.  Owen and I have really been enjoying going for walks outside.  Owen loves his stroller, however he does not love when I bundle him up.  Saturday we met up with our friends Michelle and Landon and the boys enjoyed cruising around town in all the sunshine.

Also, Ethan and I had our first date night since Owen was born.  We went out to eat to our favorite mexican restaurant and did a little shopping.  I even put on a pair of heels for the first time in months.  It was really nice, and my parents sure enjoyed watching the "lil man. 

On a sad note, I will be going back to work next week.  Except, I will be working 3 days a week.  2 days a week will be Mommy and Owen days.  YEAH!!!!  It is hard to believe that 12 weeks are over already.  I have enjoyed staying home with Owen.  It is especially hard now because Owen has become more interactive and playful.  The last couple of weeks have been a blast.  I think I am getting used to being a mom.

Owen is 2 months old!

It is hard to believe that 2 months have gone by already!  I will be going back to work in 2 weeks 3 days per week.  I am not looking forward to leaving Owen, but it will be nice to get back to having more adult interaction. 

We stopped by Great-Grandma and Grandpa Engelhat's on Sunday for a visit.

Owen loved watching the Olympics.  I think it was all the bright colors on TV.  It was pretty funny last night he was fussing and Apollo started talking and Owen stopped and listened to him.

New favorites

Snuggling with Ethan and I, well he has allways liked this except now he would rather snuggle then nap in his crib.  Thankfully he is still sleeping on his own at night.

Owen loves to be upright when you hold him now.  He especially likes when Ethan holds him up so he can look over the back on the couch.

Finley turns 2

Last weekend we celebrated Finley turning 2.  It was our first time to Chuck-E-Cheese.  Owen sure liked all the music and lights, but wow what a crazy place.  Suprisingly Owen took a nap with grandpa wi
th all the noise going on.  We can't believe that Fin is 2 already, he is such a funny boy.  Boy did he love his new Thomas the train PJ's from grandma Susie, he took his shirt off and wanted them on right away.
