4 months

I have sat down to write this post many times, but 2 little boys come first these days ;-)  Our family of 4 survived our first cold.  We think Colin got it first and he really wasn't that bad, but he was up a lot at night for a couple of days.  Owen had it a little worse and Ethan and I were miserable.  We are all feeling better now thankfully.

Colin had his 4 month doctor's appointment, with shots....bummer.  I swear this baby handles those shots so well though.  He is one tough cookie!

4 month stats:

15 pounds 12 ounces (50th percentile)
25.6 inches in length (also 50th percentile)

I again was thinking he was going to be off the charts in weight.....I love my chubby little man!

Colin continues to be a GREAT baby.  He typically wakes up between 4 and 4:30 to eat and goes right back to bed till about 7 (sometimes as late as 8:30 on the days I do not work).

He naps pretty well at home, however he is struggling a bit at daycare with all the kids and noise.  He doesn't want to miss a thing!

He has rolled a few times from his back to his stomach, but not consistently.  Stomach to back consistently.

He loves to stand, he is so strong!

Colin also continues to love his big brother, and the feelings are still mutual....we'll see if that lasts when Colin starts crawling.

Colin is so sweet and smiley.  He is a bit sensitive when it is loud.....his little lip pouts out and it is so sad looking.

Bubble blowing is one of his faves these days....and oh man does this little guy spit up a ton!  He  has a bit of reflux, so we are hoping that the medication help him from spitting up (actually projectile spit up!)so much and he doesn't seem to cry after he eats as much.

My content little boy watching his brother play with trains at Grandpa and Grandma Webinger's house

Best Buddies!  One of Colin's favorite things to do is to sit in his bumbo (or in mom or dad's lap) and watch Owen play with his train tracks.  I love watching them interact with each other.

So curious!

Okay, and I finally got a picture of this guy cheesing it, I swear every time I bring out my camera he gets his curious "what they heck is mom pointing at me" face on.....Colin smiles CONSTANTLY!  It is so fun to watch him smile.  He will watch you talk and if you pause and look at him and give him a little smile, he just starts grinning away.

We are so lucky to have this mellow little boy.  He is such a ray of light in our family.  We sure love you C Bears!

We have a BIG day tomorrow!  Owen is going to be starting at the daycare Colin goes to.  Krista, whom we love and her helper Pat have room for both my boys and I couldn't be happier that my boys will be together while I work.

Cruising on the river

While Adam and Cara were in town we set out on the Mississippi for a day of boating.  Unfortunately it was 100 degrees + that day which made fishing pretty much impossible.  As long as we were moving or stopping at a sand bar and enjoying the cool water we were okay.  Colin and I headed back home early, but we sure had a good time.  I think we may need to get a boat at some point, the boys just loved it!

Due to all the 4th of July fun the day before, the ride started out a little hairy.....Owen was already starting to fall asleep....and I let him sleep in till 9 am.

He didn't quite fall asleep, but crawled by Adam to help co-captain the boat.

Just cruising along, Adam enjoyed being our captain

Buppa Dan-o enjoyed sometime relaxing

Owen was thrilled to see a train.....he absolutely loves trains

And this sweet little boy took such a sweet little nap.  I think he liked the hum of the motor and the slight rocking.

Owen and Cara looking for boats

He looks scared, but he really liked swimming in the river, despite it being very deep close to shore.  His favorite part was running into the water and knocking mommy over.  It was so hot that she didn't mind at all ;-)

Colin was having a wonderful time putting his tootsies in the water.....

and then a wave came when mommy wasn't paying attention and taking pictures

Then he wasn't too sure about it the water, so playing with grandma was a much better idea.  A few cocktails were perfect on such a warm day.....and some yummy snacks and lunch prepared by Punkin.....Thanks mom!

Brave boy in the water!

Making a castle with Uncle Adam.....we are still hearing about the sand castle that Adam made

And last, the "kids" driving the boat.  It was really nice to have them here, and very nice to finally meet Cara.

HOT, HOT, HOT

Well, we have been a busy little family these last few weeks.  I am a little behind in posting.  Owen started swimming lessons with mommy.  It is so much fun and we make a whole night of Mommy and Owen time.....and Daddy and Colin get a solo evening together.

It is so stinking HOT right now and I really have not been motivated to do much of anything in the evenings (except go to the pool).  Our window unit air conditioners are barely keeping up with this heat, but we seem to be managing.  As long as the boys are cool, especially at night, we are all happy ;-)

Colin hasn't been outside too much, but Owen has been enjoying going to the pool with Mommy.  La Crescent built a new aquatic center and it is AMAZING!  We love it, Owen is so brave, sometimes too brave for mommy to handle.  I can't wait for Colin to enjoy the pool next year.  It is hard to believe that by this time next year our little bear will be walking

For the 4th we celebrated with the Uncle Adam and his girlfriend Cara coming back to La Crescent for a visit.  Since it was over 100 degrees we headed to my Aunt Sue's for some pool time, the pool however wasn't very cold at 94 degrees, but we managed to cool it to 89.  It is so nice to have Adam and Cara here and we are having a BLAST with them.  The boys love having new faces to entertain too!  They go back to Colorado on Sunday so we have time for a few more adventures ;-)

Here are some pics from the 4th, I didn't get a picture of my two boys in their 4th gear, I will have to do a re-do when we do some fireworks.....no fireworks yet it was TOO HOT!

colin loves Cara, especially drooling and sneezing on her ;-)

Seriously, this kid is just soooo cute!

cooling off with Grandpa

The little man actually fell asleep in the pool!

Owen is showing Daddy what he has learned in swimming lessons.  The boys LOVES to "swim" on his belly and float on his back

Finley goes up and flips......bravest 4 year old I know!

Mommy spent a lot of time inside with the little man....I kept trying to take pictures, but Colin really likes to chew on his hand!

Okay, he is the cutest baby ever!  Oh wait, Owen was.....seriously they are both so cute and have been so well behaved the past week with all this heat.  I feel like I am crabbier than they are.

Happy belated 4th of July, the next post will be our boating adventure.  Owen loves it, I think we need to ask Santa for a boat this year!
