HOORAY!

When My first son turned 6 months old I had imagined and researched all the healthy homemade foods I would feed him.  I made all sorts of things for him.......and he ate NONE of it.  We tried, and tried with no success.  He does however continue to eat vegetables which are hidden in his food.  I am The Queen of the "Sneaky Chef" (great book for those who have children who refuse to eat certain foods!)  He has ate a couple of green beans at daycare, which we are thrilled about.

On to the success of today

My Second son today ate green beans and sweet potatoes that I made for him.  I am beyond thrilled!  He didn't even do the baby wiggle.  Such a great eater he is!  I am so excited to make all sorts of foods for him.  I know this is just 2 things and we have a LONG ways to go in the food department, but I am taking today as a major success and it makes me feel so good that I could make something for him that he will not only eat, but enjoy too!

He also has been enjoying swinging at the park...with it being so hot this summer Colin hasn't had the chance to swing yet, we are loving this weather.

"camping"

We have been wanting to take Owen camping, however with Colin being so little we haven't quite jumped in.  We did the next best thing and put our tent up at the Smith's house.  Colin stayed inside with Grandma and Grandpa while the 3 of us slept in the tent.

It was great and we will be able to take a few camping trips next year.  In the morning after Owen woke up he came inside my parents house, but he wanted to go back and go "camping."  Sleeping outside was a lot of fun for Owen, but I think his favorite part was using the flashlight.  We ended up having to take it away because he wouldn't go to sleep, despite not taking a nap that day.  In the morning I said that I slept pretty good.....Ethan didn't sleep the best because Owen (who was supposed to sleep on a mat on the ground and ended up on the air mattress with us) was walking his feet up his back.

Owen is so over Mom taking pictures of him ;-)

Enjoying some chips and dip....this is a first for Owen.

Helping grandpa find some sticks for the fire

Dinner time!  Owen ate great....because we bribed him with smores!

"yummy Marshmellow"-----Owen

Grandpa is a good marshmallow roatster

And......Colin finally woke up after an almost 4 hour nap.  He looks SOOO stinking cute in his hat!  Those aren't red eyes....it is the glow from the fire.  Colin loves starting at it.

5 months

Wow, I am sure behind in posting these days.

I have just been soaking up all this summer time with my boys.  We have been hitting up the pool, took Owen "camping", and hanging out around the house.  And who has time to blog when the Olympics are on?  I love them!  Way to Go USA especially all those women!

Anyways....

I can't believe my little sweet baby Colin is 5 months old already.  Here are some highlights about him at 5 months old.

~The boy LOVES his cereal!  He currently has only had baby Oatmeal once a day.  I think we might try some veggies in the next week since he is tolerating his food so well.  I am hoping, praying, and crossing my fingers and toes that this boy will love his food or at least tolerate it.  So far he has proved that he does!  I have a vision of a toddler with food all over his face, hair, and belly!

~Typically sleeps 8:30-5/6 am and takes 2-3 naps a day.

~Is really such a happy baby!  He smiles all the time

~Has started giggling when you play peek-a-boo with him

~Loves watching Owen

~Is most ticklish near his shoulder blades and by his neck....and I love to tickle him!

~Is content just sitting in our lap and watching the world around him.

~He likes to watch people talk...just like his mommy when she was a baby!

~Hums himself to sleep

~Babbles in his crib in the morning

~Scares easily and is very sensitive.  He still can give me the pouty lip when I sneeze and I feel so bad for him.

~Continues to be such a cuddle bear and I am eating it up.

Colin, you are such a sweet little boy.  We love you so much you are such a wonderful part of our family!

These pics are all unedited, but I am on a cleaning mission today while the boys are both sleeping....no time for editing!

First time eating food!  The boy LOVED it!  So much he wanted to eat the spoon too ;-)

Okay mom, I want more!

Typical Colin.....smiling away

Typical morning/evening activity.  Owen requests Colin to play train tracks with him.  Colin enjoys watching his big brother

Hanging out in the bumbo

Colin is constantly chewing on anything.....I think we may see teeth sometime soon.

More blog posts to come.....but this mom needs to get back to work!
