Friday ( Black Friday) Mommy had to work, oh well. It was a pretty quite mellow day in cardiac rehab, which is nice. After work Grandma Smith and I took Owen to the opening of the rotary lights dispaly along with a parade. After the parade everyone walks into the park where Santa shouts "1-2-3" and there is fireworks and they turn on all the lights. It was really fun. Owen did not stop talking the entire time, so funny! He is turing into my little chatterbox. It was pretty much a couple of phrases over and over again:
"It's comin, Momma (or gra-momma)"
"TRUCKS, comin!"
"ooooh Lights"
"Deer" (reindeer)
For those of you who aren't familiar with the Rotary lights in La Crosse, WI. The entire Riverside park is decorated and their are reindeer, santa, live nativitys, music, and other activities that run through New Year's Day. Almost 150 local non-profit groups benefit from the donations and last year they collected 1.6 million food items to benefit 8 local food shelves, so if you are in the area stop in and take a look. It is pretty fun!
We didn't stay to see Santa or the reindeer, it was getting late and Daddy (and Grandpa) wanted to be there at a later time.
Enjoing a snack before the parade starts
Telling Grandma about the trucks and lights
The lights are on.....and the fireworks are over (Owen wasn't too sure about those)
In the tunnel of lights on our way to warm up in grandma's office
Saturday Grandma and Grandpa Smith watched Owen, so Ethan and I could go to a concert with Grandma and Grandpa Webinger. It was Tonic-Sol-Fa. An acapela group that has a Christmas concert....way fun! They were great. Ethan and Owen also put up our outside Christmas lights. Owen didn't really want to touch them because he thought they were "HOT"
Sunday was off to find the perfect Christmas Tree.....it was cold.....too cold for the horse drawn hay ride, thankfully Owen forgot about it after we first saw it. Maybe next year?
Searching for the perfect tree.
Found it!
"Where is Daddy?"
Owen helped Grandma and Granpa pick their tree out too
Helping the boys
And with Christmas comes.....Owen's birthday, so we are busy making plans for his big day. I can't believe he is 2 already...busy time of year!
